George Washington Museum: Where Each Student Is Held in Chapter 10
Room guide to the George Washington Museum in The Bibliophile: where Karen, Terrell, Josh and Wendy are held and how the rooms connect to the final scene.
FAQ
How do I free each student in the museum?
Where is Karen held in the museum?
What is the museum?
The George Washington Museum is a square building at the foot of the monument, closed to the public and reached from the sewers. It is crowded with crates and boxes that make a waist-high maze. Chapter 10 happens here, and it is the last chapter of the game.
Where is each student held?
| Student | Room | How to free them |
|---|---|---|
| Karen | Employee Breakroom, in the basement | squeeze soap on wrist, using the soap from the closet shelf |
| Terrell | Utility Room | untie rope |
| Josh | Back of Museum | cut tape with letter opener |
| Wendy | West Side of Museum | untie chains |
After you free each one, ask them about escape route. Terrell, Josh and Wendy then make their own way off. Karen must be guided by you through the sewers to the manhole.

How do the rooms connect?
You arrive in the Janitor’s Closet by a crack in its southwest corner, and the closet door opens east onto the basement hall. The hall runs south to a corner, with the breakroom to the west. A flight of stairs goes up from the basement to the Utility Room, and from there the museum floor opens out: the Back of Museum to the west, the West Side to the southwest of that, and the Center of Museum just east of the West Side. The center is where Dennison appears with Coffey and the shambler, and where the game ends.
The finale is only talking and throwing. Keep the bong and the letter opener for the last turn, and drop the other items first. The commands are on the chapter 10 page, and the whole route is in the full walkthrough. The way in is described on the Engineer’s Club and sewers page.
